Please note that using insurance, whether in-network or out-of-network, requires an official diagnosis that goes on your permanent medical record. If you are concerned about privacy or eligibility for life insurance, a pilot license, or military service, finding another way to pay for therapy may be better for you.
I can take insurance for psychotherapy (AKA "counseling") sessions. If you want nutritional psychotherapy, we'll bill it all as psychotherapy since the focus will still be on mental health.
If your insurance told you I am in-network, but your insurance isn't listed here, I'm probably in-network at another location. Scroll down to read more.
As of August 2025, I am currently in-network for:
I am waiting for approval from these other companies:
Visit my Headway profile for a tool to help you determine what your insurance will cover. You can also schedule a session there. Contact your insurance directly if the tool isn't working and you have questions about coverage.
You might have found me listed as an in-network provider but your insurance isn't listed above. Insurance companies only approve providers by practice location, so just because I'm in-network doesn't mean I can take your insurance at any clinic.
If you have another insurance not listed above, but you know I'm in-network, you may choose to see me through River Hollow Mental Health, which is also located in Logan or online. Please note that we only offer psychotherapy sessions at River Hollow. Due to time constraints, my nutrition offering at that clinic is minimal, so it is a lesser service.
Here's an incomplete list of insurances that I can take at River Hollow:
In some cases, insurance may cover nutrition services, even if you aren't seeing a registered dietitian. You will need to contact your insurance directly to verify what they will cover. You are more likely to be covered if you live in a state where there is no nutrition license (no licensed nutritionists or RDs), like Arizona, but it doesn't hurt to try!
For transparency, I am not a registered dietitian (RD), but I am a certified nutritional therapy practitioner (still rigorously trained, but better, in my opinion). So make sure you clarify that when checking with your insurance to see if they will cover my services. They may only want to pay for services with an RD. But sadly, seeing an RD won't get you the help you are probably looking for.
The most generous way to save some money on individualized nutrition is through referrals. You can get a free month after the initial 3-month minimum if you refer someone to me who also signs up for the nutrition package.
If I don't take your insurance at either clinic, you can utilize out-of-network (OON) benefits. If your insurance will cover nutrition with a nutritionist who is not a registered dietitian, we'll use a superbill. For psychotherapy, I have a solution that makes this easier than what most people would expect.
You may need to meet an out-of-network deductible before your insurance reimburses you, but they may cover up to 80%, depending on your policy.
Out-of-network benefits give you more freedom for which providers you want to see (like the only Nutritional Psychotherapist in Utah & Idaho, for example).
And when it comes to submitting a claim, I use a billing service that does all the work for us. You'll have to pay a 5% fee, but it's worth it if it means you are getting money back!
If you don't think you'll meet your deductible by the end of the year, I advise paying the cash rate and not going through insurance. The financial cost will be about the same, in most cases, but paying cash makes it simpler for everyone and preserves your privacy.
HSA/FSA cards are accepted for all psychotherapy services, supplements, and labs. If you have an HSA, I encourage you to use it! It'll save you money.
Contact me if you'd like either of these options.
Bishops/church leaders will usually pay for services for those in need and I'm happy to work with them to make sure you are taken care of.
I have also taken payments from Logan City for firefighters, and funding coming from other grants.
If someone else is paying for you (such as a parent or church leader) and you are a legal adult, you'll need to sign a release of information in case I need to contact them. A release is unnecessary for firefighters since their therapy is billed anonymously.
